Katie M. Wyss, LMSW-C Psychotherapist
- 1Empowering my clients to process their pasts and utilize their experiences as insight for personal growth, I am a Licensed Master Social Worker- Clinical whose passion in life is emotionally connecting with others.
- 2I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences- Health and Human Services, with a focus in Early Childhood Development and Sociology at the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Master of Social Work with Clinical Focus on Child and Family Services from Loyola University Chicago. I have worked extensively with children, adults, and families for over a decade in residential, school, community, and public health settings before beginning private practice in 2016. Much of my early clinical work focused on adolescents and young adults with social-emotional disorders and those on the Autism Spectrum.
- 3My mission is simple: To support individuals and families in identifying what they need and want in their life, by offering a kind and nonjudgmental space for exploration and growth, regardless of their background. I take a strength-based and collaborative approach to help my clients work through roadblocks and the emotions that comes with them. I specialize in empowering individuals to transition through the difficult phases of their lives, helping those experiencing anxiety, depression, social limitations, and dealing with crises and/or ongoing mental health diagnoses.
- 4Lately I’ve been thinking about how I want to love and who I want to love, and why I want to love the way I want to love, and what I need to learn to love that way, and how I need to become to become the kind of love I want to be. And when I break it all down, when I whittle it into a single breath, it essentially comes out like this: before I die, I want to be somebody’s favorite hiding place, the place they can put everything they need to survive; every secret, every solitude, every nervous prayer, and be absolutely certain I will keep it safe. I will keep it safe. – Andrea Gibson
